Combining Approaches

To help with your condition, one or two more additional therapies are usually applied in conjunction with acupuncture depending on what is most effective to help with recovery.

Cupping - generally used on the back of the body to remove stasis and toxin. Cups are usually left on the back for 20 mins or can be glided along the channels on the back. The release of stasis and toxin is reflected in the colour that appears on the skin. This mild form of approach used in ancient China, South East Asia and Traditional Greek Medicine is usually used for any types of cold attacks.

Moxibustion - the burning of mugwort to generate warmth over certain acupoints to encourage and promote flow of Qi and blood to release stagnation. It is remarkably comfortable and relaxing especially used for any gynaecological and digestive disorders

Electro-stimulation - frequently used with acupuncture and is especially effective for joint and muscular conditions. The stimulation helps to release any blocked energy along the channels that causes any pain or stiffness of joints.

Gua-Sha or ‘scraping’ - amazingly successful for any chronic muscular ache, myo-fascia tension, or the common cold. This is done by scraping with a spoon to release any pathogenic factors such as wind/cold and clears areas of stagnation from the muscles and connective tissues.
