TCM 'Plant-Based' Medicine

Chinese herbal medicine is often used in conjunction with acupuncture and other treatments. Its theory is based on Yin and Yang and the Five Elements which form the core of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Each herb enters particular organs and meridians to assist with healing, and there are over 500 different types of herbs ranging from flowers, seeds, roots to certain minerals and animal products.

There is strict quarantine in Australia to using animal products so any herbal medicine dispensed revolves around this regulation.

Chinese herbal medicine brings both Chinese therapeutic actions and pharmacological effects to help with ailments in the body. These actions can range from releasing and clearing heat/toxin; resolving damp/phlegm, to giving a calming sensation. Pharmacologically, it gives anti-inflammatory, antibiotic effects and so forth without any drug related side effects.

Herbs have certain qualities and are usually prescribed according to individual’s conditions base on their TCM diagnostic principles. Herbs come in a variety of forms and it can be either brewed or consume in capsules, pills or granules.

There is extensive range of herbal formulas we provide in the store and our clients can rest assure the most appropriate medicinal products are dispensed and advised
